is offering Hurricane Survivor Relief and needs your help!!!

On Tuesday September 6th, approximately 30 families from the New Orleans area will be relocating to our city and Parkside Villages will be offering empty apartments for the flood victim families until they are able to move back home.

What can the community do to help?

Volunteer Your Time

Parkside Villages need volunteers to help clean out the apartments and make them ready for the new families. Volunteers are also needed to help sort donations and set up apartments for families before they arrive. Volunteers will be needed at the Dewey as well as at the Parkside Villages.

Shoes, socks, and underwear
Trash cans and bags
Beds, sheets and pillows
Comforters and Blankets

Non-Perishable Food

Radio and TV

Anything needed to make an empty apartment more like home

Adopt an Apartment or Family

Do you have a church or organization that would like to adopt an apartment or family? Types of responsibility include but are not limited to:
· Making sure the family is taken care of financially
· Offer a kind face during this difficult transition after the move has been made
· Help in the area of transportation, local directory, and referrals to services in the Waco area such as to schools, day care, etc.
· Check on them regularly

More than likely these families have never been to Waco, so it will be quite challenging to maneuver around without local assistance. Individuals are encouraged to adopt an apartment or family as well.
